Caught!

Caught!

Mrs. C came home from work tonight and we had the following conversation:

“Why didn’t you leave the light on for me tonight?”

“I forgot.”

“You know I don’t like opening the door in the dark when I get home from work.”

“It is a safe neighborhood, what are you afraid of?”

“I just don’t like it and you know that…you never forget!”

“Well I guess I did tonight,”

“How about the garbage, you need to put it out for tomorrow”

“I forgot.”

“It’s not too late you know.”

“Yeah, but I’m not dressed to go out and I’m comfortable.”

“The garbage will start to stink by the next pick up.”

“It’s in the garage, what is the big deal?”

“The big deal is you never forget the garbage and you always have the front light on and now tonight you forget everything!  If I didn’t know better I’d think…wait a minute.  You don’t have any material for your stupid blog do you?”

“Maybe, and it’s not stupid.”

“So, you wanted to start a fight and get material so you could make fun of me like you always do?”

“Maybe.”

“JERK!”

“It’s not a stupid blog.”

“Take out the garbage.”

I hate it when she catches me.

  2. It's not easy being a blogger.

  3. When you're a writer of any kind, those around you need to understand that everything is potential material. Musician Nick Cave compares it to being a cannibal. I'm not saying you're a cannibal.

  4. You need blog fodder and I think it's reasonable for you to get that fodder however you feel is necessary. I've a blog so I understand.

Have a fabulous day, Joe. 😎

  5. I am reminded of the Bizarro World episode of Seinfeld. Around here, I turn on the light for Hick while he's at the auction, and I put out the trash. Hick LIKES being on my blog, and often asks if I've written about his recent exploits. I'm the Bizarro Cranky Old Man!

  12. I don't like opening the door in the dark either. It's not that I don't feel safe, but more that I can't see the keyhole.
Forgetting the garbage is a big no-no. I HATE stinky garbage.

  13. That's one way to get something to post about. After all, the news doesn't report all of the planes that landed safely, and you don't report that you remembered to turn on the lights and take out the garbage as usual, that's not news.

Then again, in my house, someone besides me remembering to take out the garbage without a reminder would be news!
