DOPPELGANGERS

DOPPELGANGERS
Do you have a doppelganger, someone who could be your twin?  They say everyone has a doppelganger.  Sometimes your doppelganger only looks like you to others.  When you see him, not so much.  Sometimes it is just a single facial feature that makes a resemblance.

I have been told I look just like former Governor of New Jersey Jon Corzine.

I don’t see it.

Mrs. Cranky’s doppelganger was spotted on the internet from an old photo that was going around.

It was said to be a woman screaming, but it is actually a woman sneezing.  From her dress I think the picture probably is from the nineteen tens.  Mrs. Cranky has a knowledge of many thing that for her age she should not know; famous people, songs, movies…stuff like that.  I have claimed that she must be reincarnated from another time.

Mrs. C?

Perhaps her doppelganger is really that person?

My once a year fishing buddy Catfish just retired.

Or is he actually the star of TV’s “River Monsters”?

Jeremy Wade, or Catfish?

Recently I read an article about a multi-billionaire investor.  His picture looks very much like my old friend Frog.  I double checked with Frog, and he assured me he is worth considerably less than a billion dollars.

Still…I wonder

  1. Billionaires don't get to be billionaires by talking about it you know - I mean, has Frog ever told you his REAL name? Hmmmm ....

  2. If I ever see my double I shall die of shock. I mean there's only so much I can take these days....

  3. I believe, I believe. I've met too many.

  4. I thought Mrs. Cranky was a blonde!

  5. I think so too. I've been told about my twin, but I've never met her yet. I don't want to either.

    Have a fabulous day. ☺

  6. I haven't seen anyone that would resemble me (that's probably a good thing) but I have seen lots of people that I would swear were my brother.

  8. Gertrude Stein once wrote that there are only six types of people in the world and that's why we always find people who remind us of others.

  9. I've seen my daughter on the TV news, my sister in a family's photograph, and my brother driving a truck on Google maps. Only thing is, it wasn't them; they were dead-on lookalikes. Isn't life confusing enough? Oh yeah, I stood next to "Bill Clinton" in a department store. Probably not really him, though; I'll never know.

  10. The older I get, the more I notice people who look like other people I already know. And I do have a doppelganger, right here in my little town. People used to come up to me and start conversations as if they knew me, then apologize when they saw my confusion. Then one day I saw her at the local mall - at first I thought I was looking in a distant mirror. It was spooky and funny at the same time.

  11. A lot of folks told me I looked like Chris Elliot. That was a while back, so I don't know if I still do. However, Joe, it's a fine coincidence you posting this now. Check out my FB page - scroll down to the post with two photos in it and I think you'll see something that goes with your writing here :-)

  12. Lots of people say I look just like Brad Pitt, or is it Cary Grant?

  13. Well, first of all Mrs. Cranky is beautiful and I'm certain she never has a melt down moment like her alleged doppleganger.. Lol.. There is a resemblance in all of these photos.. Makes me wonder who mine is.. :)

  15. Mrs. Cranky has a sweet smile. Can't imagine "Jerk" coming out of that mouth. Now her supposed doppelganger is another story.
I have had people swear someone looks like me but when I meet them I don't see it. I just hope they behave themselves and stay on the right side of the law.

  16. My brother-in-law looks just like Bill Gates.

I used to work with someone who looked similar enough to me that people thought we were sisters. So we started calling each other "sis." When we got to know each other more, we figured out that we used to live less than 10 miles apart in South Carolina, never once meeting until we started working at the same place in Florida.

  17. I can see the similarity between that Drunkensailor guy and Frog, but the others, not so much. I can't imagine there is another human who looks like me, but if there is, my sincerest apology. :)

  18. Even I don't look a lot like me!!

  19. Yes! I see the resemblance in all of them. Of course, I don't have my glasses on right now.

  20. If I was you, I'd check on Frog's bank statements.

  21. I have a nephew who looks MORE like Obama than the picture you have shown here. Seriously. One year he went as Obama to a Halloween party. All he wore was a suit and tie. People immediately said, "Mr. President, how nice of you to come." I knew a woman once, she was about 70 years old at the time, and she came to my house once a week to help with my daughter's therapy. This was back in 1997 thru 1999. Shirley was her name. I will never forget her because each day she came she would always stare at me, and she always said the same thing: " I just can't get over how much you look like Audrey Hepburn when she was a young woman! You have the same face shape, the same eyes and hair. You just look so much like her, I can't get over it." Good old Shirley, she was always making me feel good with that compliment. Of course, I don't see the resemblance at ALL, but still....it was a nice to be told that :)

  22. One time I did one of those doppelgänger websites where you submit a photo and they find a famous person that resembles you. Mine came back as a 20 something Asian male I never heard of. I'm none of those things, btw!
