ANNUAL LAFAYETTE DTD
FRATERNITY REUNION
This weekend
marks the 77th annual Lafayette, DTD, class of whoever shows up fraternity reunion. These affairs used to be drunken fiascos, but
since the 57th reunion they have tamed down a bit. They now involve maybe a glass of wine or
two, and discussions of recent operations and medications. Still they are always a good time.
This year a
dark cloud hangs over head. Fraternity
brother, good friend and occasional golf partner Captain Don will not
attend. He suffered a painful loss last
week. He and his wife will be missed,
but they will be in our thoughts. I get
a lump in my throat just thinking of their loss.
Even with
the pain and grief I know their family is feeling, Captain Don wants the
reunion party to go on and for all to have the usual good time. He asks that at some time we raise a glass,
think of him, say a prayer and have a toast.
That we will
do.
In addition,
I am asking my readers who believe in the power of prayer, to ask for divine
assistance in getting Don and his family through their grief.
i am sorry for your friend's loss. obviously a deep cut. bless them and all of you who seek to cheer him.
ReplyDeleteMy prayer has been sent.
