TV DIFFERENCE OF OPINION

TV DIFFERENCE OF OPINION

Last night I was channel surfing on the TV.  Mrs. Cranky was on the computer and not really paying attention to the TV.  I settled on a show on the Animal Planet, “River Monsters.”

“River Monsters” is a show where this insane fisherman, Jeremy Wade, tries to catch fresh water river fish which he suspects of being man-eaters.

The show last night involved a four foot fish with giant razor sharp teeth. Jeremy suspected these fish occasionally join together in large schools to attack bait fish and in some cases human beings.

Mrs. Cranky peered over the computer and asked me in all seriousness, “Can you tell me what is so interesting about this show?”

Keep in mind that this very morning I was subjected to watching two hours of “Say Yes to the Dress” reruns which we have already seen several times.  Two hours of ruching, crumb-catchers, mermaid cuts, Cinderella cuts, bling,  Wow-factor,  Bust lines, flair, sweetheart neckline, veils, Gay Randy and Pnina Tornai.  Still, she wanted to know what was so interesting about catching a:

FOUR FOOT MAN-EATING SEA MONSTER WITH HUGE RAZO SHARP TEETH!

  1. I love this show. It is the only fishing show where he never catches anything, or what he is trying to catch. It's the anticipation, something a woman should understand.

  3. I'm with you - fishing far more interesting! which is probably why I used to watch 'Extreme Fishing' starring Geordie lad Robson Green.

You can catch re-runs of that over here, although it is a UK programme. He travels the world to catch 'extreme' fish - the ones people would love to catch or get a glimpse of but rarely do! It's a good show

  4. I've watched "Say Yes to the Dress" more times than I want to admit. I think those sharp-tongued snarky women are much more dangerous than any river monster.

  5. I haven't seen that show, "Say Yes to the Dress" Am I missing something?

  6. Catching a huge prehistoric fish in muddy waters is just as exciting as watching women try to find that per-fect wedding gown. As a matter of fact, I think Jeremy has a better chance of finding the elusive fish than the bride finding the perfect gown!
Actually, I'm a fan of both shows.

  7. "Say yes to the dress"? Never heard of it. I don't get out much. Maybe that's not a bad thing. ;)

  8. Having not seen either show, the fish sounds more interesting. Wait, could they be combined? Maybe the fish can eat the dress people?

  9. You know, I've seen an episode of River Monsters. And I hate fishing. But I was riveted! It was about some crazy fish that were the same size as piranhas but way worse. And now I'm too scared to visit a river in South America. Which is fine, because I'm too busy to go to South America anyway...

  10. My parents are avid fishermen (people ?) and they love River Monsters. I occasionally will get sucked into watching the show :)
If I had seen the episode with the four foot man-eating sea monster...I would've been glued.
