Suffering from a tooth issue and a bit drugged up so here is a fun post from September 2012

There are some films where one or more lines defines the movie.  When you hear the
movie title, that one line immediately comes to mind. These are lines which people
use in everyday life.  They transcend the movie.

These are my favorites, I’ll name the movie, and you name the line,

“A league of Their Own”

“A Few Good Men”

“Gone With The Wind” (2)

“The Wizard of Oz”

 “King Kong”

“The Godfather” (2)

“The Terminator”

“The Shining”

“Wall Street”

“Field Of Dreams”

“Jerry McGuire”

“A league of Their Own” / “There’s no crying in baseball!”

“Jaws” / “We’re going to need a bigger boat.”

“A Few Good Men” / “You want the truth?  You can’t handle the truth.”

“Gone With The Wind” / “Frankly Scarlet, I don’t give a damn.” And "As God is my witness; I'll never be hungry again."

“The Wizard of Oz” / “Were not in Kansas anymore.” And “There’s no place like home”

“King Kong” / “T’was beauty killed the beast”

“The Godfather” / “I’m going to make him an offer he can’t refuse” And “Leave the gun, take the cannoli.”

“The Terminator” / "I’ll be back”

“Titanic” / “I’m the king of the world”

“Poltergeist” / “They’re here”

“The Shining” / “Here’s Johnny”

“Scarface” / “Say hello to my little friend”

“Wall Street” / “Greed is good!”

“Field Of Dreams” / “If you build it, he will come.”

“Jerry McGuire” / “Show me the money”

How many did you get?

What are your favorite famous movie lines?

  1. It's something like . . "I am shocked to learn that there is gambling going on here." (Casablanca) Also, "We'll always have Paris."

  2. From Mr. Roberts: "Captain, I just threw you damn palm tree overboard.
Now what's all this crap about no movies tonight?"

  3. I did fair at best. Oh well, it was fun. That's the most important part right? I thought so.

Favorite movie line? I got nothing.

    Have a fabulous day. ☺

  4. "Your father was a hamster, and your mother smelt of elderberries. Now go away, or I shall taunt you a second time." - Monty Python Holy Grail

"My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die." - Princess Bride

"Sometimes the magic works, and sometimes it doesn't." - Little Big Man

"I have a very bad feeling about this." - Star Wars

  5. This was fun. I got all but two.
    "You had me at hello."

  6. i missed godfather totally. don't know that movie well at all. for gone w/ the wind, i had 'i'll think about that tomorrow' and 'i don't know nothing 'bout birthin no babies!' too.

didn't get titanic. tried to forget that movie after i saw it. ;) and poltergeist i only saw snippets of - 'come into the light' is what came to mind. not even sure that's the right film...

  7. I agree...this was fun. I got about half.

You should do TV shows next. Of course, I'll only get points if you heavily lean on Seinfeld.

  8. Only five right for me. Now if you had the original True Grit, I could have given you a plethora of quotes...

  9. Since I spend time with 4 granddaughters under the age of 5, all I can presently think of is "Do you want to build a snowman?" from "Frozen." Since it's their favorite, of course it becomes mine, too! lol

I love comments, especially some of my commenters are funny as heck!
