TV DIFFERENCE OF OPINION

TV DIFFERENCE OF OPINION

This cranky re-run is from April 2012

Last night I was channel surfing on the TV.  Mrs. Cranky was on the computer and not really paying attention to the TV.  I settled on a show on the Animal Planet, “River Monsters.”

“River Monsters” is a show where this insane fisherman, Jeremy Wade, tries to catch fresh water river fish which he suspects of being man-eaters.

The show last night involved a four foot fish with giant razor sharp teeth. Jeremy suspected these fish occasionally join together in large schools to attack bait fish and in some cases human beings.

Mrs. Cranky peered over the computer and asked me in all seriousness, “Can you tell me what is so interesting about this show?”

Keep in mind that this very morning I was subjected to watching two hours of “Say Yes to the Dress” reruns which we have already seen several times.  Two hours of ruching, crumb-catchers, mermaid cuts, Cinderella cuts, bling,  Wow-factor,  Bust lines, flair, sweetheart neckline, veils, Gay Randy and Pnina Tornai.  Still, she wanted to know what was so interesting about catching a:

FOUR FOOT MAN-EATING SEA MONSTER WITH HUGE RAZOR SHARP TEETH!

  1. I don't watch reality television, but if I were flipping channels and saw that fish, I think I'd stop and look.

  2. You should have said the same thing that made you so interested in Say Yes to the Dress. I'm just saying.

Have a fabulous day Cranky. ☺

  3. Each to their own. The only thing I would watch as a rerun is a mystery on PBS.

  4. I'm aware of this program but haven't watched it. I hope they aren't killing these fish, which deserve a place in our ecosystem.

  5. My husband asked me that question years ago about why I enjoyed watching the drama type of movies made for TV. He really didn't care for them and couldn't quite see someone else might enjoy them. Pretty much after that I handed the remote to him and let him pick what we watched and never commented on the interesting things he chose to watch that did not appeal to me like science fiction, action, adventure, etc. However, with the advent of the Internet, I pretty much stopped watching television except for a few things here and there. So maybe it was a good thing he asked me that question years ago :)

  6. My husband and I had separate televisions--I was heavy into HGTV at the time and he watched the History Channel and the weather.

  7. Maybe she would have been more interested if the fish was wearing a satin gown with ruching & a tulle skirt!!

  8. Some shows are made for women, some for men, and never the twain shall meet.

  9. Think fishducky nailed it. Two TVs sounds like a must.

  10. I have been quite disappointed since TLC took off the morning reruns of The Little Couple and Quints by Surprise and Sister Wives. AND A&E dropped Parking Wars reruns from their 6:00 a.m. central time lineup. Now all I have to watch is Say Yes to the Dress! And that Cake Boss guy. A cake is better than a dress any day.

  11. And i'm not interested in either one. Oh, well, i'm weird.

  12. I don't get it dude. Who wouldn't want to see a fish that could take a leg off while water skiing? I'm going to see if that baby is on YouTube.

  13. My husband humors me as I watch nearly every reality show there is: Swamp People, Moonshiners, Deadliest Catch, Gold Fever, and a zillion more, plus all the Alaska shows. Hoarders, My 600-pound life. . .love them! I'll have to check out Say Yes to the Dress!

  14. I watched that River Monsters show once. And only once. I didn't think it worth watching any further episodes.
