Be careful
what you breath
It’s not
safe to be indoors
Outside is
no safer
What with
the burning stores
Stay away
from glass or metal
That’s where
the virus’s stored
Do not touch
your mouth or face
The experts
have implored
Stay away
from Twitter
Be careful
what you say
If you have
the wrong opinion
Some folks
might keep away
It seems the
world we live in
Has become an
awful place
I just found
out that it’s my fault
I was born to
a privileged race
I should say
I’m sorry
For the
virus and the wars
For poverty
and unfairness
The fault is
mine not yours
Instead I’m going
to slink away
Who wants to
hear me spout
I’m just an old man
I’ll let
others sort it out.
It is a bit
too depressing these days, I'm going to quarantine my Blog. I might be back if the world ever settles
down.
I hear you. It's not our fault, Joe.
ReplyDeleteHave a peaceful blog break. 😎
blame it all on Twitter.
ReplyDeleteI was wondering where you went. It can be stressful online. Take care, Joe.

ReplyDeleteCount me as one of the people wondering where you were, Joe--I hope you get your crank back soon.
ReplyDeleteI know the feeling. Stay sane my friend.
ReplyDeleteI thought maybe you were having a staycation.
ReplyDeleteCould it be just a brief break, please? Whatever its duration, I look forward to the pleasure of your renewed online company. It's hard, I know, to keep blogging sometimes --especially now-- but we need good minds here, like yours.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure the world will settle down, we just can't be sure when.
ReplyDeleteOh my, now I have to find another way to brighten my life. Don't be away too long... for my sake.
ReplyDeleteAs for the rest of the world, close the door and ignore everything.
I am feeling like you. It is hard to think with all the fear that surrounds us and the constant noise that pounds in our heads. Our minds are tired. You are a bright spot on Blogger, Joe, and will be missed. I hope to see your funny, entertaining posts back on Blogger soon.
ReplyDeleteIt is what it is. We are lucky we are not in a war zone or our country is not sending all the young men out to war zones. Take a brain break and we will still be here when you get back.
ReplyDeleteNot a bad idea.
ReplyDeleteHope this is a quickie break. You will be missed a bunch.
ReplyDeleteHaving lived through the 60s. . . We'll see how much staying power the current batch of narcissistic lunatics has. . .
ReplyDeleteOh bummer. I'm glad you at least posted. I was starting to worry about you.
ReplyDeleteGo ahead and take a break but don't let it last too long.
I've been on a bit of a break and miss my blog buddies but boy do I understand your desire to just chill. It's been a crappy year and I'm soooo OVER IT! I'm facing some daunting decisions here in a few days and all those stupid people doing stupid things makes me want to slap them all along side the head. Why don't they just do something that actually helps mankind..like finding a cure for the common cold or better yet...GET A FREAKING JOB! Stay cool Cranky and when you return I'll know the world is still spinning and everything will OK in the end!
ReplyDeletePLEASE DON'T DO THIS!
