I AM Outraged!

I AM Outraged!

Well, not really outraged, just curious.

Last week I submitted a post about phones and received a curious comment.

Oh my god I saw your blog on how to feel young in my English book. I got three questions for homework because of you, this is so sadge 😔😔😔

My first thought was WTF? Why was my post “How To Feel Young” in an English book.  I don’t even think it was a particularly good post. I asked:

Fire and ice 2, it’s a school English book, they used one of your blogs for a comprehension

Now I had to wonder,

First - Don’t they have to get an OK from me to use my stuff?

Second - Did they use my post to inspire young minds, or as an example of how not to write.

Third - Am I entitled to royalties?

I Googled this book.

The only copy I could find was on Amazon, used for $74.15.

That pretty much rules out royalties, and for $74.15 I don’t need to know if it was used to inspire young minds, or as an example of how not to write.

Now my only question is what the hell does SADGE mean.  I looked it up and I still don’t know.

Somehow a post on How To Feel Young, has made me feel really old!

  1. What in the NOT-HEAVEN??? Such a studious student to track you down and complain about how you made them (can't use he/she any more without offending someone!) so SADGE.

    1. No, not scam or spam, that makes no sense, I'm pretty alert to scams or spam.

  3. I think all your posts could be in a book because they are so RAD. You know RAD right? It's awesome. However I googled SADGE but it kept bringing me to SAGE. I know what that is. I burn it to ward off evil spirits and negativity. Mostly I have to sage myself ! Hope you figure out the mystery. Stay warm and I hope your weather isn't going to be too bad this weekend.

  4. Maybe you need to post at the bottom of your blog that everything on this blog is your copyright and they have to ask permission to use it.

Of course, they still might not and unless someone tells you, how would you know?

  5. Hmm, this is interesting. Plz keep us updated. And SADGE means sad and depressing.

  6. Sadge is an emote on Twitch depicting a flattened version of Pepe the Frog with a sad, disappointed expression and a downward glance. The emote is commonly used as a reaction to convey sadness or depression in chats on Twitch, but also appears in memes and a form of copypasta elsewhere online.

  7. Hi I'm the person who wrote that comment. Sadge is basically just like an internet term for sad. To answer the second question, it was used as an example of how to write a blog, so I think that's a good thing, I don't know much about the first and third question tho, I'm not good with copyright. Thanks for making a blog on my comment, the book is like really old so I thought you would have already known your in it, but I guess that isn't the case. Anyways I'll be showing this to the other people in my class, I'm sure they won't believe me when I tell them that the guy from our English book actually replied to me.

  9. I'm this person's classmate, and I was surprised when they told me they sent a message to the original creator of the blog. I now find this and I'm shocked. Let me explain a few things; Firstly, they DID technically have to ask for your permission as it IS copyrighted, but I'm not sure where you would take this. Secondly, the context your blog was used in was in a chapter called "Young and Old". This chapter goes over things like blogs. Your blog, "How to Stay Young" was simply used as an example of how and old person may express their thoughts in a blog. Lastly, SADGE is just an internet term used to describe something sad. In this case it was more of a sarcastic comment as we never expected it would prompt a response.
I hope that clears things up!
