Isn't Today Saturday?

Isn't Today Saturday?

Mrs. C generally works on Thursday nights.   She did not work this Thursday, apparently it was Thanksgiving.

I say apparently, because we have our Thanksgiving meal on the Sunday before.  We have it the Sunday before because so many family and friends have other plans for the real Thanksgiving.  This way no one has to make a difficult choice or do that every other year thing.

We did have a small bird to ourselves on Thursday, but it did not feel like Thanksgiving.

All week it has seemed strange hearing people talk about Thanksgiving, when to us Thanksgiving was over.  Today, all day we have been confused.  We turned on the TV this morning expecting a Saturday schedule, and found “Leave it to Beaver.”

“Is it Friday or Saturday.”

“I don’t know, I’m confused.”

Later in the day we turned on the TV to watch Jeopardy.

“Football?”

“Why is there football on a Friday, or is it Saturday?”

“I don’t know, I’m confused too.”

“Apparently Saturday comes on a Friday this week.”

  1. Yeah, I hate these weird days when no one on television seems to know what day it is.

  2. Joe this type of confusion comes naturally, especially when they screw up something as important as the TV schedule.

  3. It's such a lovely thing when you think it's already Saturday, then you find out you still have Saturday and a day of rest yet to come!

  4. I've been confused yesterday and today. Thought yesterday was Saturday, had to remind hubby to remind me that I had to work today Friday. Just will be real hard waking up 5:30 a.m. on Monday since hubby off for 4 days and he's the one with the ridiculous morning awakening hour.

  6. We're having our Thanksgiving on Saturday. So I was surprised to see a parade on TV Thursday morning.

  7. I've taken to crossing off each day on the calendar as I go to bed, just so I don't forget what day it is.

  8. For the first time ever, I heard the word Thanksgiving on a televised church service. Normally we wait until Christmas to celebrate but this year we seem to be copying America. I mean, we even had a Black Friday which was hitherto unheard of.

  9. I feel this way about virtually every holiday. Long 3 or 4 day weekends mess with my brain.

  10. Just look at it like getting an extra day in the week. That is a good thing. Was glad to read Valerie's comment. I heard on the news about London having Black Friday and it had me wondering.

  12. Well it's Saturday now....I don't really need special occasions or long weekends to confuse me about what day it is. Old age...ain't it wunnerful?

  13. This is good confusion. I say go with it. Often I haven't a clue what day it is and mostly I don't care. When you're retired every day is either Saturday or Sunday.

    Have a fabulous day. ☺

  15. This is just the same conversation Jack and I have had! Wed: I was off work so it was my first Saturday of the week..Thursday felt like Thanksgiving because it was Thanksgiving...Friday was my second Saturday of the week and I wanted to do the grocery shopping...Today was Saturday but it was also my son's birthday and Ohio State was playing Michigan and that's just a day all in it's own calendar...tomorrow? Haven't got a clue.

  16. Fed Ex delivered a package to us on Friday morning and I asked if they were already having to work on Saturday. The guy looked at me oddly and said, "It's Friday, Dude." Who knew?
